The 30th annual Rochester Area Prayer Breakfast will be at the Shotwell-Gustafson Pavilion of Oakland University on Thursday, May 5 (National Day of Prayer) beginning promptly at 7:00am and ending promptly at 8:59am. The guest speaker this year will be TV and movie star Kirk Cameron. Best known for his role of Mike Seaver on Growing Pains in the 80s and 90s, Cameron continues to act and produce while also being a nationally renowned speaker for Christianity, God, marriage, and family.
Cameron starred recently in the inspirational movie, Fireproof. Cameron met his future wife, Chelsea Noble, on the set of Growing Pains where her character was a love interest of Cameron’s character. They’ve been married since 1991 and have six children (four of whom are adopted). Cameron’s sister, Candace Cameron Bure, grew up also starring on television in the hit series Full House.
The Prayer Breakfast draws 1,000+ attendees annually including the “who’s who” of the Rochester Area such as politicians, business owners, religious leaders, and other community service organizations such as the Jaycees. The event includes an all you can eat hot breakfast, uplifting speeches and music, plus the keynote presentation by Cameron. Cost is $20.
