Although membership recruitment, activation, and retention are the responsibility of the entire chapter, there is a separate book for the membership projects. It is expected that chapter will set membership goals in each area of opportunity to help strengthen its membership. (Please note: This is a Michigan Jaycee Area of Opportunity. Consult the Appendices for national book submission requirements.)
Membership Retention Commission: This commission ensures that members receive proper orientation and are included in chapter activities immediately after joining.
Growth and New Chapters Commission: This commission ensures that new members join the chapter regularly and that the organization continues to grow into other communities.
Chapter Activities Commission: In this commission, members have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of social activities and that chapter meetings are well planned and members have an opportunity to participate in meeting procedures.
New Member Orientation - We get together with new and potential members and teach them about the way our chapter runs and the Jaycee terms for things.
Springboard and Degrees - This is a program used to recognize members for their involvement in different aspects of the Jaycees.
Volleyball Picnic - It's becoming tradition in the summer to get together for a picnic and play some volleyball with our members and friends.
Holiday Party - We celebrate the holidays with a potluck get together and exchange white elephant gifts. Some of these gifts are talked about all year long!
Games Night Social - When we just want to kick back and relax with our fellow members and friends, we will get together for some cards and/or board games with snacks.
