Prime Training is currently being planned for the weekend of  August 13-15th  in Kalamazoo, MI.

What is Prime you ask?

PRIME. The JCI Coaching Course is a two-and-a-half-day seminar and the first-level training course for Junior Chamber International coaches. This course can be your practical guide to implementing sound personal and leadership development programs in order to create positive change. PRIME builds confidence in presenting complex information in clear and engaging ways and increases the ability to motivate others. Additionally it develops communication skills and teaches people to look at new situations with an open and positive mindset.

Guidelines and Criteria. In addition to its availability at some JCI Area Conferences, PRIME can be presented within national organizations. To secure approval from JCI, you must follow guidelines and criteria outlined in this publication. The guidelines are designed to help establish and maintain a standard of excellence and to guarantee maximum impact of this unique adult learning experience.

The Participants. PRIME is designed to present new and interesting challenges to members who have little or no experience in training but who want to develop coaching skills for use in their chapters, community, and workplaces. Any member interested in coaching or individual development is welcome to attend this course. Each PRIME course must be attended by no less than 12 individuals. All participants must complete the official registration form included in the PRIME promotional flyer. These forms will be used by the Head Coach to assess the levels of knowledge and learning styles of the participants.

There will be a fee of US$100 for members and US$300 for non-JCI members.

Length. A total of 24 hours in 2½ days of training must be allocated for PRIME. Additionally, participants will be required to work on assignments at night. PRIME participants should plan no other activities for the duration of the course.

Your training director, Dave G. is working on securing housing with Jaycees in the Kalamazoo area to reduce the housing costs for the weekend.

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact Dave at [email protected] .

This year we have decided to extend the personal advancement class program.  As a member, you can take any advancement classes through the community programs or anywhere else, and you can get part of the fee reimbursed by the Rochester Jaycees.

So get out there and learn something new. Pick up a new hobby, learn a new language, take piano lessons or learn how to make a quilt.  Whatever it is that you have always wanted to do, this is your chance to get out and do it.
